From a young age, I took an interest in hair, practicing on myself and then on family and friends. In 2007-08 I attended nursing school and graduated with my CNA License. But I wanted to branch out further, knowing there was a lot more to explore. I went on to work and gain experience in many different positions in the healthcare sector.
In 2022 I took a leap of faith and enrolled in cosmetology school where I learned that health care and the beauty industry go hand in hand. And that's where I met the dynamic Louise Brooks, cancer survivor and founder of Diva Maker Hair Prosthetics. I couldn't help but take an interest in her story and how she overcame significant health issues and hair loss. Her vision matched mine and I began to see that together we could help people all over the world not only feel good because of a simple hair do but also provide soothing, natural treatment solutions with an emphasis on health rather than beauty.
There are so many considerations when working with hair loss patients. It requires education, compassion and a genuine personal touch. Installing any old retail store hair piece or wig can do more harm than good. This holistic approach is what drives me to help others every day – a passion for blended wellness and aesthetic beauty.
Today I work with clients with illnesses that cause significant changes to their natural hair as well as conditions of the scalp such as psoriasis, alopecia, tension hair loss, or a tender/sensitive scalp.
I’ve had many clients return because they have had such good results simply from my hands, sticking to one stylist (which is key) and not causing extra tension on the scalp or hair.
I couldn’t be more excited to embark on the next stage of this journey and to be collaborating with Diva Maker Hair Prosthetics as a key distributor in the USA.
